Katie is originally from Marshfield, MO where she graduated high school as Salutatorian. She then went on to the University of Missouri-Columbia where she started her Martial arts training under Division head Gabe McKinnis. She graduated in May 2000 with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology and a General Honors Certificate.
